HUNTING AND WEAPONRY
Although most of the tools and weapons are made from stone and animals bones, the Sentinelese make use of metal fragments that end up washed on their shore. Their weaponry consists of javelins and flat-bow with high accuracy against targets. The tribe has at least three different varieties of arrows, especially for hunting and fishing. Fishing arrows have a number of forward-pointed prongs and hunting arrows have ovoid arrowheads. Arrows are typically over 1 m long while the harpoon is half as long. Harpoons also are used for catching fish, with similiar design to fishing arrows but 2.5 m long. The Sentinelese also use knives as weapons, although it is unclear the specific use knives play in their hunting. The tribes uses tools such as adzes, pounding and smithing stones and various woven baskets for small-grained or larger goods, as well as bamboo and wooden containers. Furthermore, there exists fishing nets and basic outrigger canoes (made from trees) for catching fish from the lagoon but not for open sea excursions.
